The subject of the best M-car of all time is a controversial one, but regardless of your bias, the E46 M3 CSL is right up there. Based on the highly acclaimed standard E46 M3 the CSL built on the successful formula with more power (+17bhp), less weight (-110kg), greater focus and much more noise. It is a car where the end result added up to much more than the individual changes.
Press reviews at the time were mixed (mainly due to the extreme tyres fitted at launch), but read the opinions of quality motoring journalists today and they will wax lyrical about just how special the E46 M3 CSL is. Compact, light and agile, more than fast enough and overflowing with character, a well looked after CSL is an absolute joy to drive. The car we are delighted to offer has had 2 owners since new. The current owner purchased the car at less than 12 months old when it had done 1,700 miles and has cherished it ever since. The car has been used, but never abused (no trackdays, no launch control starts).
